Welcome to Hanham Toddlers Pre-School
Hanham Toddlers Pre-School based at Hanham Methodist Church and the Children’s Centre.
Hanham Toddlers Pre-school is a charity run organisation and it has been running since 1960. It is believed to be the oldest in the country and is very much part of the community.
We are registered with Ofsted to accomodate 94 children at any time and over the year we will have up to 140 children coming to us over the course of a week. Currently we take children from the age of 2 until they go to school. As of September 2013 the pre-school have operated from both Hanham Methodist Church and Hanham Children’s Centre. Therefore sessions will be allocated accordingly allowing for more flexibility to suit individual family needs.
We have been able to remain open throughout lock-down, initially for Key Worker children and gradually for all children.
In line with the latest Government guidelines issued on 17th August 2021, we have now been able to relax some of the measures we were previously taking. The following measures still remain:
- Staggered start and finish times
- Regular hand washing by children and staff
- Regular cleaning procedures
You are welcome to visit the pre-school so that we can show you around, explain how we work and answer any questions you might have. We normally invite you to come along without an appointment. However, because of Covid-19 we ask that you contact us beforehand to arrange a time and date for your visit. Please either call us on 0117 9082406 or or email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition, there is a virtual tour on our Facebook page (in the name of Hanham Toddlers Pre-school). The tour was posted on 14th August 2020. There are also many other posts you can look at to get an idea of what we do at Hanham Toddlers.

Our normal opening hours are from 9.00am to 3.00pm but these are currently staggered between 8.45am and 2.55pm due to Covid-19.
Before your child starts with us, we invite you to bring them in for a session to start to familiarise them with the pre-school and the staff who will be caring for them.
We will also arrange a home visit so that we can meet your child in their own environment and have the opportunity to talk to you about your child. During these visits you will be given your child’s Transition Book, which includes photographs of different aspects of the pre-school, including the staff who will care for your child. You will keep this book until your child starts with us so that you can look through the book together and use it to familiarise your child with the pre-school environment.
Our core hours will remain from 9.00am to 3.00pm but will be flexible within these hours wherever possible irrespective of the age group of the child. Please contact us to discuss it further.
