Welcome to Hanham Toddlers Pre-School CIO

Hanham Toddlers Pre-School based at Hanham Methodist Church and the Children’s Centre.

Hanham Toddlers Pre-school is a charity run organisation and it has been running since 1960. It is believed to be the oldest in the country and is very much part of the community.

We are registered with Ofsted to accomodate 94 children at any time and over the year we will have up to 140 children coming to us over the course of a week.  Currently we take children from the age of 2 until they go to school. As of September 2013 the pre-school have operated from both Hanham Methodist Church and Hanham Children’s Centre.  Therefore sessions will be allocated accordingly allowing for more flexibility to suit individual family needs.

Registration

You are welcome to visit the pre-school so that we can show you around, explain how we work and answer any questions you might have.  Please either call us on 0117 9082406 or or email to hanhamtoddlers@outlook.com.

Opening hours

Our normal opening hours are are staggered from 8.45 am to 2.55 pm.

Visits

Before your child starts with us, we invite you to bring them in for a session to start to familiarise them with the pre-school and the staff who will be caring for them.

We will also arrange a home visit so that we can meet your child in their own environment and have the opportunity to talk to you about your child.  During these visits you will be given your child’s Transition Book, which includes photographs of different aspects of the pre-school, including the staff who will care for your child.  You will keep this book until your child starts with us so that you can look through the book together and use it to familiarise your child with the pre-school environment.

Flexible Hours

Our core hours are from 9.00am to 3.00pm.  At present our classes have staggered start and finish times, offering a 5 or 6 hour day for children in receipt of the Universal Nursery Education Grant for 3 & 4 year olds in the academic year before they start primary education, and a 5 hour day for children aged 2-3 years.
